Verdict

Barney McCall looks on the upgrade and sets the standard while Famous Grouse will prove a tough opponent and is the main danger ahead of Treculiar and Big Smoke. Amanda Perrett's charge was the subject of strong support when lifting an all aged handicap over course and distance in convincing fashion earlier in the month and this progressive son of Grand Lodge can defy a 2lb rise against his own age group. Famous Grouse developed in to a smart performer last term, winning his last two starts, but lacks a recent outing and may prove vulnerable under top weight on this occasion. Neither Treculiar or Big Smoke have shown enough this season to warrant support on these terms.
