In depth

Verdict

West With The Wind opened her account when taking a Newcastle maiden earlier this month but Peter Chapple-Hyam's filly is likely to find this tougher having been raised 4lbs since then and preference is for TURNING TOP, who gets the verdict over Very Well Red. Peter Hiatt's mare has run well in being placed in each of her last two starts and she has every chance of giving weight away all round having been raised just 1lb for her latest start. Amanda Perrett's Dialect looks to be going the right way but she looks plenty high enough in the weights for what she has achieved so far, while Miss Sophisticat has run well in recent outings but remains a maiden after 12 starts and may be booked for a place at best. Ralph Beckett's Royal Superlative should appreciate the drop back to a mile but preference is for Turning Top. Simon Callaghan's filly has held her form well in handicaps after her Warwick maiden race success in June and she looks worth another chance over a mile on this ground having disappointed over the trip twice previously.
