Verdict

Maria Lombardi made a winning debut at Yarmouth then started favourite for a four-runner affair on Turf at Lingfield but didn't appear to have made progress. Maria Montez suffered in the weights for her two victories in June and was caught right on the line by tonight's rival Ginzan at Bath. That form looks nothing out of the ordinary so it's the progressive ROYAL GUINEVERE who looks the one to be on. Dean Ivory's filly made a good impression at Doncaster on Thursday and her trainer has elected to come here with a penalty which should pay off. Royal Trix had her first start since 2011 at Salisbury on Saturday where she weakened quickly after showing good pace.
