        Verdict

        SO NOBLE arrives with a penalty after completing a double here last week. Runner-up Chess Valley is fancied in the first division so the form looks strong enough for him to land a hat-trick. Mendacious Harpy, who wasn't far behind in third, could make a race of it this time at the revised weights but was due to run yesterday at Leicester. Rangi Chase showed his liking for soft ground with a comfortable victory in a Pontefract claimer while Rolling Dice made all for a shock victory over much better fancied rivals on soft going at Bath and is only 2lb higher. Marengo scored over 7f on heavy ground at Chepstow and his latest runs have been over much further and though Craftsmanship has been racing in better company he's 7lb higher than his only victory to date.
