Verdict

ORIENTAL SPLENDOUR showed improvement when fourth in a higher grade maiden at Salisbury last time. That looks stronger form than State Of The Union's recent second at Kempton and Roger Charlton's colt gets the nod. Pipe Bomb had shown promise on his introduction at York only to disappoint at Hamilton last month while the likes of Burauq, Finton Friend and King Jerry all made modest debut efforts. Treaty Of York may prove best of the newcomers.
