Verdict

A competitive finale which in recent years hasn't been kind to favourites, and our preference is for SALYBIA BAY to get the better of stablemate Cayman Sky and Sherman McCoy. Richard Hannon's filly Salybia Bay is nought from ten, regularly placed, but just missing out on the gold medals. A trio of runners up spots was followed last time out by a lucky third, but a repeat of one of those previous efforts could be enough here. The yard's other runner, Cayman Sky, did well in a couple of outings at Goodwood recently, but is clearly their second string. Sherman McCoy avoids top weight status with trainer's son James Millman doing the steering with his three pound claim. A good winner last time out he's looking a progressive sort at this level. Top rated Morning Sir Alan won off the same mark last time out at Folkestone, and a repeat wouldn't be out of the question, but we prefer the claims of Salybia Bay.
