Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

A number of these hold real pretensions of being first past the post; we'll take a chance with MR FLANNEGAN, Cocktail Party looks pretty solid whilst Ben's Dream and Arachnophobia both caught the eye last time. Cocktail Party kept on well to win on soft ground over five furlongs at Nottingham and should be competitive from her revised mark; she had the slow starting Assent back in fourth on that occasion and the Millman runner may be seen in a better light over this longer trip if getting away on terms. Bob Stock ran a better race last time and is worth a second look along with Inthawain, Graycliffe and the Hannnon pair. Two more that are considered are Ben's Dream and Arachnophobia who clashed at Nottingham last time. Ben's Dream came out on top there and will be even better when he learns to settle whilst the latter was doing some good work in the closing stages and is heading in the right direction. It would be no great surprise to see any of the above take this prize but we're going to take a chance that a visor transforms Henry Candy's gelding. He attracted support ahead of his nursery bow at Warwick which is encouraging as someone presumably believes that he's capable of better and the headgear may enable Mr Flannegan to prove the point.
