Verdict

SLIP comes here in fine form and Jim Boyle's gelding is the pick of the runners at the weights; the horse to follow him home may be the quirky, but fairly consistent, Nawamees. Although horses that stand out in claimers don't always prove to be the good things that they look, this horse is rated 80, some 15lbs clear of his closest rival, and a repeat of anything like his Lingfield run last time would be enough to take this race. It might be wise to note that he scraped home by a neck there as the 1/2 favourite so this may not be one for the faint-hearted. Nawamees was a fair third at Leicester last time and Ryan Moore looks a good jockey booking for a horse who needs a strong ride and he should run a decent race. The Saucy Snipe is only three so it may be too early to speak of her in bad terms but her recent performances seem to have exposed her as just modest and it is no surprise to see her dropped in class, whilst Lady Jinks is a course and distance winner which will stand her in good stead but at these weights she has an awful lot to find. Slip may be flattered by his official rating but he should win this regardless.
