In depth

Verdict

Capricho can roll back the years with Proud Killer and Caustic Wit nominated as plausible alternatives. Capricho has dropped to a near plating mark but Jon Akehurst's gelding is more than capable of handling this surface and with Natalia Gemelova taking off a valuable 5lbs, this could be his best opportunity for victory for quite some time. Proud Killer is in good heart following victory at Folkestone. John Jenkins' charge is still well in versus his old form and is closely watched in the market. Caustic Wit ran back up to form at Goodwood over five furlongs and shouldn't be too far away if reproducing that form here. Linda Green is yet to win on this surface but is fairly consistent. Dualagi has a little to prove but a good run can be anticipated as Stan Moore's horses have been the subject of plenty of support in the betting ring of late. Double Carpet has taken some time to get off the mark but he did so in Ayr in spite of being out of the handicap and is likely to trade at a few points bigger on account of his unfashionable connections. Roman Quest is best of the rest and is accordingly watched in the market. Capricho doesn't win too often but connections can have few excuses on ground that suits.
