Verdict

Feu D'Artifice is offered as a tentative selection ahead of Blacktoft and Conservation. Feu D'Artifice has had plenty of chances in the past but it is worth noting that this race is much weaker than a number of those maidens and as the colt is making a long overdue step up in trip, there is every reason to be getting on this evening. Blacktoft hails from a yard that are in form. Handicapped following three runs over shorter trips - the decision to race over further has now been made. Conservation was well backed ahead of a recent foray at Bath. The hold-up tactics didn't work but there are clearly some grounds for optimism. Abstract Art is another who requires a hold-up ride. Jamie Spencer will need all his skills to negotiated a passage from this unfavourable draw. Snark was described as his yard's best juvenile but put up a poor performance on reappearance. Backers will need to forget the evidence of their eyes and look to the evidence of the market. Salvestro staged a fair effort at Folkestone and is off a reasonable enough handicap mark at the moment. Many chances here and Feu D'Artifice is offered to minimum stakes.
