          Verdict

          Luca Cumani supplies the surprise packet here with Houston Park who showed improvement towards the end of last term to land two minor events in Italy on soft ground and may be well handicapped on his return. However, his previous form in faster conditions was uninspiring and he may again find the ground too lively under his inexperienced pilot. Kieren Fallon renews his partnership with Native Title on whom he steered to a Newbury maiden victory last June. Michael Blanshard's charge is well treated and should come on for a recent return at Leicester while Bible Box is relatively lightly raced and is open to further improvement this season. Bold Raider won a similar heat over course and distance last June but is now 9lb higher and may struggle under a hefty burden on his seasonal reappearance. In a difficult race, preference is for Laggan Minstrel who showed generally progressive form last year, winning handicaps at Salisbury and Lingfield and should show the benefit of his staying-on fourth over seven furlongs at Kempton last week.
