Contrada, Politeia and Zuwaar make up our shortlist for this wide open event, from which we'll side with ZUWAAR. The selection came from well off the pace to win a maiden at Brighton, not the most straightforward of tracks. Outpaced on his handicap debut and then switched from Pat Haslam to Ian Williams, a drop into claiming company produced an extraordinary effort to come fourth with a tremendous late run. With a decent start from a middle draw he could land this, with the extra furlong to his advantage. Politeia has a couple of places to her name and is expected to be ridden prominently as was the case when coming close to breaking her maiden last time out. She won't want the ground too quick. Contrada's sole success was in an apprentice handicap having previously shown little form. A wide draw hampered his chances last time out but he still gained a creditable third and should come into calculations today. Dancing Dik could go well at a price; Amanda Perret won this race last year, her runner this time is the only course and distance winner and is well in at the weights.
