In depth

Verdict

A competitive apprentice handicap opens the card and MATTEROFACT looks really well treated here and accordingly has our confidence to beat home Bertie Southstreet and Memphis Man. With conditional jock Jack Payne allowed to claim five pounds here the selection will be racing off a burden two pounds lighter than she carried to victory last time out. Bertie Southstreet is back in form after a few runs in plating class and while his last effort off this mark in handicap company was off putting he ran well under this weight in the winter so he should be in the mix now back in the groove. David Evans has had is runners going well lately and Memphis Man is weighted to go well stepping down in class at a venue where he has scored and finished second on his last two visits. Fromsong and Dancing Wave aren't ruled out completely after some good efforts in their last few starts but Matterofact looks well treated and should take advantage.
