Verdict

Sprint-bred Serious Spender, a son of Amadeus Wolf, cost £45,000 as a yearling and will be expected to pay his way this year. Brian Meehan's Dubawi colt Safari Storm is another newcomer to note but he will almost certainly improve as he steps up in trip and it's difficult to get away from LORD OF THE SHADOWS in this. He was very green when a beaten favourite on his debut over C&D last week but still led inside the final furlong before being outpaced close home and is sure to have learned from the experience.
