Verdict

Madam President is our speculative selection in this contest with Duncan and Crusoe's Return among the major players. Walter Swinburn's filly was nicely backed on introduction from 25/1 into 10/1 and duly landed a couple of each-way bets in the process. The trainer's runners normally improve for an outing and tonight should be no exception. Duncan could be popular if Summerstrand, who beat him at Newmarket, consents to give a good account in the previous race. Crusoe's Return was an unusually high price for a Cumani runner at the course when second to Speed Ticket in June. He won't be far away again. Island Vista's second on introduction at Lingfield last term could have disappeared off the radar of many but ahead of her on that occasion was the very useful Annie Skates. Coliseum ran a stinker on introduction but it would be folly to discount a horse on one bad race. Wellington Square is nicely bred and is arguably one to note with the future in mind. Inquest is a half-brother to Harry Tricker, who obliged on the flat and over hurdles. Eleonora can't be written off given the form of the Willie Haggas yard. Moville will be the yardstick for the handicapper. Madam President is our selection in a race that will throw up plenty of winners.
