This may not be as competitive as numbers suggest and we like the look of LOCAL PRESENT although we'd fear Lucky Pearl if the market gave out the right signals and Command Marshal ran out an easy winner last time. The latter represents an in-form yard and is unpenalised for his fifteen length victory at Fontwell so has leading claims as he should see out this longer trip without any problems. Lucky Pearl's claims are less obvious but she's shaped with promise once or twice in her career and has joined a yard that seems to be adept at getting the best out of their charges. The market will be instructive in regard to her chances and those of stablemate Cloudier. The vote goes to Ron Hodges' Local Present who was once sent off at just half a point bigger than Cappa Bleu in a point at Ballybunion. It's taken a while for the penny to drop for this yard under Rules but he posted a more encouraging effort on his latest start and is a potential improver over this longer trip. He's gone well for Timmy Murphy in the past and he may be able to get the best out of Local Present.
