Verdict

CAROLE'S LEGACY looks to be a shoo-in for this mares' novices' contest, while Rare Article can be the one for the forecast. Nicky Henderson's string have begun to hit top form and Carole's Legacy comes into this contest holding all the aces, being rated fully 22lbs higher than her nearest of just three rivals on official BHA figures. She does of course have to prove that she can jump a fence, but she will have done plenty of that at Seven Barrows and with conditions and trip both appearing ideal it will be a shock if she is beaten. Rare Article is proven with cut in the ground and although her CV shows she has been comfortably beaten over this trip on a few occasions, she really ought to stay this far, and with the exception of the favourite this looks her easist task for a while. Tim Vaughan will have been working on improving her and she can begin to show that. Cresswell Ruby enjoys getting her toe in and stays much further than this. She has plenty to do at the weights, and this may be a bit on the short side for her. Ringsend Rose appears to have a mountain to climb and Carole's Legacy can score.
