Verdict

It's quite a surprise to see Tony McCoy here today but he has some very good rides including CARLICUE here. An impressive winner on heavy ground in an Irish point-to-point, he showed the benefit of his opening run for new connections at Chepstow in October when gaining a comfortable maiden success over this trip at Ffos Las a month ago. He hasn't been done any great favours by the handicapper but there looks plenty more to come. Jetnova landed a couple of novice events at Plumpton before failing to cope with heavy ground and Grade 2 company at Warwick where he was well beaten by Court In Motion. This is more his class and ground and he can put that run behind him. Simply Blue has run poorly since scoring over two miles here in October and this is an unknown trip while the returning Georgian King wouldn't want any more rain as his best form is on faster ground. Westlin' Winds is untested at the distance and has plenty of weight but first-time blinkers may wake him up enough to produce a better effort.
