Verdict

Tannerman is almost certainly better than he showed at Exeter in January while Black Pond hasn't been beaten far in either start over hurdles, though does need to settle better if he's to make an impact at the winter game. OLD TRICKS was the only one to make a race of it with Theatre Guide over C&D last month and, as that was only his second start over timber, he's open to plenty of improvement. Winner of a bumper here on Boxing Day, the five-year-old could round off what promises to be a successful day for the Tizzard team.
