Verdict

This is a competitive handicap but the assessor probably has Carlton Jack in his grip. Generous Ransom won at Exeter last month while Kings Bayonet made a promising reappearance at Newbury and his yard won this last year. Henryville arrives in terrific form while it would be no surprise to see Invicta Lake go well. He beat Henryville at Plumpton in November and had Phare Isle behind when third at Market Rasen last month. V NECK has to be the one despite still being a maiden. The horse that beat him at Exeter in November has won twice since, including a Listed contest, and the five-year-old is unlikely to have reached his potential yet. Sinbad The Sailor is probably best of the rest.
