Verdict

The market will tell us plenty about the chances of the likely protagonists and without reference to it, KNOCKAVEEN has to be the call with Florarossa and Banjaxed Girl as the alternatives. The selection has the benefit of two races in this sphere and is from the family of Festival Bumper winner, Mucklemeg. Granted, she has it prove on the surface but the stable are not in the habit of making fanciful entries. Keith Reveley has two runners and son James is aboard Florarossa. She showed well for a long way at Haydock earlier in the month and that experience will not have been lost upon her. Banjaxed Girl has to be respected from the Nigel Twiston-Davies team. She is a half-sister to staying hurdler, La Marianne, and is sure to give a good account. Mick Easterby's runners are in fair nick at present so the cheaply purchased Becky has to be given more than a cursory glance in the market. Alwood Flora ran a stinker on debut at Hexham. Connections have given her plenty of time since that race and at the likely odds, she could have very solid each-way claims. Ferdy Murphy is not noted as the most prolific trainer of bumper winners so the well bred Archdale Lady could be one to watch with an eye to the future. A race of limited punting appeal that can go to Knockaveen.
