In depth

Verdict

Oliverjohn is selected ahead of College City and Silver Sedge. Lucinda Russell targetted this race with a bulk five-day entry and she appears to have had Oliverjohn in mind for today's assignment. He was gambled on heavily at Kelso and never seriously looked like surrendering that cash to the bookmakers. Formerly rated in three figures, he looks difficult to oppose. College City has some ability but is a suspect fencer. Unproven on the surface and giving 9lb away to our selection, we are prepared to oppose. Silver Sedge landed his second start over the bigger fences having departed early on his first. He appreciates the surface and can stay further. Jerom De Vindecy and Kelkeel have shown little of note in recent outings to suggest that they can trouble the judge on this occasion. Oliverjohn is recommended accordingly.
