Verdict

Strathaird won a seller over the C&D back in 2007 and his only other success came over fences on New Year's Day. He was well beaten into second at Southwell on Wednesday and may have to settle for a place again. DENY also ran at that Southwell fixture and produced his best run to date behind Santo Thomas in a handicap. He's only four so should have enough improvement in him to take this. Emirate Isle has struggled off this kind of mark in the past though he holds Stanley Bridge on his victory at Sedgefield in December. Decent Lord completed a hat-trick at this time last year but though very well supported he ran poorly at Uttoxeter on New Year's Eve.
