Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

WILD TONTO looks to be a good thing here, but Bleu Pois and Carrietau are also worthy of consideration. Tim Vaughan's gelding races under a penalty after winning on his first crack at chasing here last month, following a decent career over hurdles. Dean Coleman claims seven pounds to negate the penalty, but he still looks to be off a competitive mark. Bleu Pois ran respectably last time out when runner up over further after giving a stone away; the drop back in trip should be viewed as a positive here, and any Howard Johnson runner is to be respected. Carrietau should benefit too from a shorter trip; he's yet to win over the bigger fences, but has shown plenty of promise so far. Favourites don't have a good record in this race, but we think that the likely hotpot Wild Tonto can buck that trend.
