In depth

Verdict

Golden Streak gets the call here ahead of Alfie Flits and Freshford. Charlie Egerton's 50,000 guineas purchase, Golden Streak could be the one to be on here if the market vibe is positive. Boasting a likeable pedigree, Alfie Flits warrants a mention. Howard Johnson's Astarador also has to be considered, and Celtic Salon, Freshford - who will be ridden by Tony Culhane, Tahaddi Turtle, Bora Shaamit and Olmetta are others with something to like on breeding. Insurgent fetched 140,000 guineas as a yearling but was later sold cheaply, as was Raider Of The East, who initially cost 240,000 guineas, while Mohayer showed promise when fourth on his Towcester debut. However, the vote goes to Golden Streak.
