Verdict

ENGROSSING was having his first start for Richard Hannon when a promising third in a decent Salisbury maiden earlier this month. He will appreciate slightly quicker ground and can finally lose his maiden tag. It's a surprise to find Richard Hughes on board Indigo Iris as he was beaten six lengths when runner-up at Lingfield though he's likely to improve as is Malih, who showed a bit of promise on his second start last season. The newcomers Bypass, the first foal of a winning miler, and Haftohaf, a half-brother to two winners, are worth noting in the betting.
