Verdict

CAPTAIN BOB has been allocated a handicap mark of 79 which is usually good enough to win an ordinary maiden such as this. He managed to finish runner-up at Salisbury last time despite losing a shoe on the way to the start. After The Goldrush failed to figure in Class 2 company on his latest start but went close at Salisbury on his debut. He's preferred to stablemate Gloss while better is expected from Meteoroid after a modest introduction at Newmarket. Tancred is another likely to improve stepping up in distance.
