In depth

Verdict

A classy turnout for this novice chase and we will take a chance with Wilfred, Le Volfoni and No Full look to be the main dangers. The selection had a nice school round at the back on this chasing debut here last time, in the race won by the smart Cerium. The form of that race is working out well and he looks just the type to do better over fences than hurdles. Cerium's trainer is represented here by Le Volfoni who made a very pleasing start to his British racing career when third to Flying Spirit at Cheltenham. He should improve for the run and looks a big threat to all. No Full also comes over from France having landed a decent race at Auteuil in June. He is now with a very shrewd trainer so watch out for any market move. Voy Por Ustedes didn't live up to the hype last season but was still a decent enough hurdler and he looks the pick of the others. However Wilfred looks set to improve dramatically on that first venture over fences and he gets our vote.
