In depth

Verdict

Henry Daly won this race last year with Ordre De Bataille and we will take a chance on Timpo being good enough to score first time up over hurdles; Open Season, Oniphlaure and Bobby Gee make it to the shortlist. The selection ran a good race on his bumper debut last year and the fact that he ran first time up in the valuable Newbury contest suggest that he is held in high regard. He wasn't given a hard time in the finish on that occasion and sure to have been well-schooled for this hurdles debut, a big run could be in the offing. There is plenty of point-to-point form for enthusiasts to get their teeth into, but Oniphlaure looks to hold solid claims for his in-form trainer Alan King. He won last time out and is sure to be a threat if the market speaks in his favour. Militant Man looks sure to improve for his recent debut over timber, whilst Galoshes and Blue Rebel need checks in the betting first time up over obstacles. Bobby Gee returns from a break but showed plenty of promise in two starts earlier this year, however it is Timpo who gets the nod at a fair price.
