In depth

Verdict

GARDE LA VICTOIRE and Gone Too Far both opened their accounts on their latest starts. The former beat a subsequent winner at Aintree and Philip Hobbs' charge gets the nod to defy a penalty on that basis. McCoy sticks with Gone Too Far of the McManus-owned trio while Benefique Royale posted a better effort at Worcester last time. Hurdling debutant Ronnie Lawson may prove a bigger threat as he's a brother to a winning hurdler and Ffos Las bumper winner, Solstice Son, should go well along with Etania.
