In depth

Verdict

This looks a great deal more competitive than the races Barton Rose has won at Plumpton and Southwell lately. Iron Butterfly beat Queen Spud at Doncaster last time but there shouldn't be much between the pair on today's revised terms. Miss Lucky Penny's recent second here puts her in the picture and Weather Babe is no forlorn hope, despite top weight, while Polly Peachum won a Listed handicap at Ascot just under a year ago and will be helped by Nico De Boinville's claim. DANCINGTILMIDNIGHT was a well-backed favourite on her reappearance over 3m at Ludlow but weakened quickly and was pulled up. She is a lot better that that and is worth another chance in an open race in which Woodland Walk is also worth a second look.
