Verdict

Harristown quickened nicely to win on his hurdling debut at Newton Abbot while Herod The Great made it second-time lucky at Uttoxeter. Both should make a bold bid to defy their penalties but Christian Von Der Recke has sent CAFE AU LAIT over from Germany with excellent prospects. He only won on an artificial surface on the Flat but did have placed form on soft ground and was second in a Group 2 in Austria in June. He'll know what's required on his hurdles bow. Handsome Stranger showed promise when fourth at Kempton and looks the pick of the remainder.
