In depth

Verdict

A very tough race with few seemingly out of it but Valmina should reward each-way support at a big price. He completed a hat-trick in the early part of the season and has run well in tough handicaps recently. George Downing gets on well with him and he should again see off the attentions of Cruise Tothelimit, who was just behind him at Goodwood in July and has been in very good form for most of the summer. My Kingdom is generally consistent and has won from higher marks in the past but the one to be on looks to be TROJAN ROCKET. Connections can hardly complain about his handicap mark as he's only 4lb higher for his two victories at Newmarket when Mickael Barzalona has been on board for both successes. Michael Wigham targeted this after his latest success in July and a low draw should also aid the cause. Best Trip, placed in the Bronze Cup at Ayr, looks best of the remainder though Midnight Rider was only beaten a head under a big weight in a C&D qualifier and will enjoy the soft conditions.
