Verdict

Nothing comes here in sparkling form so a repeat of BARBIROLLI's recent third to Venir Rouge at Newbury may be enough to take the top spot today. Mark Brisbourne's experienced gelding has been dropped a couple of pounds for that last run and is now rated 50, the same mark as his last win in May and way below his highest winning mark. He goes on any ground so won't mind which way the weather goes and he looks the most solid option in the race. Goldan Jess needs to improve for the switch back to the flat, Looks The Business drops in trip after a fair effort last time but it was a small field and perhaps unreliable form, whilst Jelly Mo steps up in trip but is yet to prove her stamina over this distance. This track may suit Monaadi more than the Roodee last time at Chester, but Le Corvee looks more of a danger judging by his good run here last time behind Maybe I Wont. This looks a tricky finale for punters but the feeling is that Barbirolli is the safest bet.
