In depth

Verdict

A tough end to the card and narrow preference is for Desert Hawk ahead of Prince Des Neiges and Joy In The Guild. The selection comes here on the back of a fair fourth at Hamilton (winner irrefutably franked form since by sluicing up in a better race at Ascot) and should be capable of a getting his head back in front today. Effective on ground with some cut in, he won't mind what the weather does and is fancied to score from his low draw. Prince Des Neiges comes here on the back of a second at Brighton but he was well-held on that occasion ad must do better today if he is to trouble the judge. West End Lad should be watched for market support on his handicap debut now stepped up in trip, whilst Terminate and Dream Master both come here on the back of decent efforts on the all-weather. Joy In The Guild and Summer Bounty are two course and distance winners who need to be respected, however Desert Hawk comes here in good form and is fancied to land the finale.
