In depth

Verdict

KONSTANTIN has clearly improved for another winter on his back and ran out a relatively comfortable winner on his comeback at Leicester. There should be more races to be won with Marcus Tregoning's Balmont gelding, starting here. Countess Ellen has had the obligatory three runs in maidens and will now be expected to pay her way in handicaps while Bertie Blu Boy has already won twice at Wolverhampton this year though, like Kempton scorer Beautiful Lando, has more to do back on turf. The others also need to improve if they are to figure.
