Verdict

BIG SOCIETY looks the one to beat in this. Despite racing freely, Tom George's bumper winner was only worn down close home by the experienced Desert Joe on his hurdling debut over this trip at Chepstow and should have more to offer. Cheat The Cheater steps up an extra half-mile after his third at Chepstow but, being out of a Strong Gale mare, should stay and makes more appeal than the penalised Grouse Lodge, who dropped away tamely at Kelso earlier this month after rattling up a four-timer in a point-to-point, a bumper and a couple of hurdle races at Sedgefield and over 2m5f here. Safferano has won between the flags but the others are easy to dismiss.
