Verdict

Springfield Gunner is our selection in the finale with Cilrhiwviv and Santarctique as the dangers. Steve Gollings' horses are always worth a look in this sphere and the six-year-old was heavily backed on his last run at Market Rasen. He can make experience count. Cilrhiwviv built upon positivie earlier efforts to score at Newton Abbot. It is difficult to give away a winner's penalty and its worth bearing in mind that the race was staged at a funerial gallop. Santarctique has to be respected with Tony McCoy in the saddle and on pedigree, anything achieved today may pale into insignificance next year. Forge Valley hails from a yard that can have them ready first time out. Gaye Starlet is related to a number of smart horses including grand chaser, Kingsmark. The market is watched acordingly. Sue Smith's battalion includes Baltic Pathfinder. A cheap acquisition by the stable standards, he should act on the surface. Call Me Sam weakened quickly at Worcester having raced prominently. Springfield Gunner has had his chances but we are prepared to back him against less experienced rivals.
