In depth

Verdict

Prideus has a fine chance of landing the opener and is preferred to Mous Of Men and Best Prospect. Alan King has kept the weights down by declaring Zilcash and that has left his juvenile on an attractive racing weight. He has made steady progress this term, finishing second to Celestial Halo before winning at Warwick. He failed to concede 7lbs to Metaphoric back at the Midlands track last time but there was no disgrace in that effort as the winner went on to finish fifth in the Fred Winter. Mous Of Men won a competitive race last time and is feared but it's a little surprising to see him drop back in trip, Majaales is progressing well but he's been busy of late and has another hefty rise to contend with, there should be more to come from Best Prospect too but Prideus appeals as a better handicapped horse and is consequently selected.
