In depth

Verdict

Question marks over the leading contenders and an unappealing betting opportunity. Bahira has plenty of winning and placed form in bumper company but looked all at sea when an odds-on failure on her hurdling debut at Towcester. In some ways she did well to get as close as she did but will need to be more professional in future. Carabinier has shown little to date in better contests but Nicky Henderson is persevering which is a tip in itself and this does represent a major drop in grade. However, the choice is TARN HOWS who created a good impression when landing a Bangor bumper and should have benefited considerably from a mid-division finish at the same track on his hurdling debut.
