Verdict

WESTERN PROMISE hadn't shown much before gaining a shock victory at Roscommon where he led for most of the way over that three miles. He's been raised 7lb but a similar effort should be good enough for this. Bishop's Lane is a regular winner between the flags and started favourite in that latter race but faded badly after a mistake two out. This shorter trip should see him get much closer and he looks a threat. Bruff was in touch when making a mistake three out that day but never really threatened while Presswell Lad is only moderate over fences and has failed to reach a place in six starts.
