In depth

Verdict

Combustible Kate showed promise between the flags and did well on her hurdling debut at Limerick so it's a surprise to see her having her first run in a bumper. Silver Chief is reverting to a bumper after two runs over timber, the latest when chasing home Popcorn at Thurles in March. That was a good run and he should go close though Slaney Conflict, a winner between the flags and a good third to Ginger Genie at Wexford last month, may have his measure. ESTHER'S TWILIGHT made a fine racecourse debut behind the very useful Blossom Gate at Cork and probably had too much use made of her in a very strong bumper at Galway. With more restrained tactics she looks to have every chance in a moderate finale.
