In depth

Verdict

NEWTON THISTLE sluiced up over 3m here eight days ago and should be good enough to defy his penalty against largely out-of-form rivals. Ben Pauling is having a good season and his seven-year-old appears to have taken better to fences second-time around. River D'Or is often well backed but hasn't won since 2012 and wouldn't have finished in front of Samson Collonges at Hexham last time had he stayed on his feet. Bebinn and Bally Gunner are hard to catch right while it's a long time since Jolly Boys Outing showed any worthwhile form.
