El Hombre Del Rio is preferred to Major Benefit and Lord Attica. The selection was a fair performer under Rules in his day - winning twice, including a 3 mile chase on heavy ground at Chepstow - so he should be able to handle the conditions this afternoon. He has also been in decent form between the flags of late, gaining a deserved success at Cothelstone after a couple of placed runs. Lord Attica failed to complete on his first couple of starts this season but has found his form now and has an experienced and capable pilot in the saddle. Major Benefit appeared to have fallen out of love with the game when last seen in action under Rules but a change of scenery and routine may have put the spark back into him and he cannot be ruled out. Rogue River rates a mention following his second at Buckfastleigh but Charlotte Tizzard and El Hombre Del Rio should be backed to take the honours.
