In depth

Verdict

There was plenty to like about the attitude shown by Cove Mountain when she was successful at Hereford at the beginning of the month on her handicap debut but she has to race off a 13lb higher mark today and looks best watched, with preference for Psychic Star who gets the vote over Crouch End Flyer. The last mentioned made an encouraging debut in a handicap when last seen at Taunton in February on a soft surface and she may be best watched on her first start on faster ground today. Venetia Williams has her team in good form so her representative Simple Gifts has to be respected but needs to improve on all known form. David Pipe's Ful of Grace ran better last time but needs to improve again to trouble the judge and a better bet looks to be Alison Thorpe's Psychic Star, who improved for the fitting of blinkers at Plumpton last time and she looks worth chancing in the hope that they have the same effect today.
