Verdict

A modest staying chase with KHAZAR selected ahead of Early Wings and Jacarado. The combination of Tony McCoy and Jonjo O'Neill are always respected and it could be that 89 is a favourable mark to go chasing off. Early Wings was second to Basoda last time out. The handicapper has alloted a 5lb rise for that close up finish. Jacarado was in fourth on that occasion but as a track specialist and proven on a faster surface, this veteran should not be ignored. Arceye is 13 years young. His recent victory at Chepstow attracted an 8lb rise. Gerrard ran lamentably here in March and has been given time off since. Caspar Of Tarsus might be better on a softer surface so is reluctantly passed over. Shulmin is an out-and-out staying mare but she has lots to do on the figures. Khazar might be well treated off this mark and as he hails from an in-form yard, he looks the percentage call.
