In depth

Verdict

DOUBLE MEAD, successful between the flags since finishing second to Divine Intavention at Ludlow, has a penalty to overcome but should be up to the task. Alex Dunn's mare is preferred to once-useful hurdler Pistolet Noir, fifth at Leicester on his latest start but likely to be suited by today's quicker conditions. Best of the rest may be Dunshane, who was fourth to Rumbury Grey at Ffos Las 10 days ago and has the beating of Cherokee Star on that effort.
