It's difficult to know what to make of Prince Connoisseur, who came in for sustained support when making his debut at Dundalk in January. Several of his better fancied rivals were withdrawn and he was left to beat two moderate rivals and hasn't been seen since. He'll be up for this but faces a tough opponent in CHICLET, who can finally get off the mark. Tracey Collins' filly led until caught in the dying strides by Amygdala over 6f at Cork last time and will take some catching here. Mr Good Guy, who was around 6l behind, didn't enjoy the best of runs and should get closer without reversing the form while Blueberry Gal had every chance and just wasn't quick enough. Pirita made a promising debut a year ago and returned from a very long absence to land a Down Royal maiden last month so it was disappointing to see her beaten a long way at Navan a fortnight later.
Mr Good Guy (IRE) 14-1 (9-6) Rear of mid-division, 9th 2f out, pushed along in 7th 1f out, kept on one pace, 7th of 11, 7l behind Amygdala (9-0) at Cork 6f 3yo hcp gd.
Pirita (IRE) 4-1 (8-12) Ran 5th, pushed along and no extra over 1f out, weakened, 10th of 11, 11l behind Shipyard (9-3) at Navan 6f hcp 60-95 gf.
Chiclet (IRE) 11-2 (8-10) Soon led, ridden 2f out, under pressure and kept on inside final furlong, headed final 50 yards, 2nd of 11, 1/2l behind Amygdala (9-0) at Cork 6f 3yo hcp gd.
Prince Connoisseur (IRE) 2-9fav (9-5) Went slightly right leaving stalls but soon led and made virtually all, pushed out 1f out, stayed on well, comfortably, won at Dundalk 6f 3yo mdn stks pol in Jan beating Edamame (9-5) by 1l, 3 ran.
Blueberry Gal (IRE) 12-1 (8-10) Chased leaders, progress halfway and 3rd 2f out, ridden and no extra inside final furlong, 6th of 11, 5l behind Amygdala (9-0) at Cork 6f 3yo hcp gd.
