Verdict

Backed from 10/1 to 11/2, CAIM HILL did us a favour when landing the Midlands National at Kilbeggan on Friday night and is heading for Galway but if Philip Fenton lets him loose here with a 6lb penalty he can't be opposed. The trainer also has Kilflora entered and he also ran at Kilbeggan where he finished a close third over hurdles. He would be a good substitute if Caim Hill doesn't run. Judge Roy Bean hasn't done as well over fences as hurdles and disappointed when strongly fancied at Wexford after a very good run at Kilbeggan last month. Good Luck Chuck gained his first success over fences at Wexford in April but that was on very fast going and he pulled up on his only subsequent start from today's mark at Kilbeggan. Venture Lazarus pulled up in three point-to-points before creating a shock when scoring at the Galway Festival but he's hardly picked his feet up in three subsequent starts.
