In depth

Verdict

The Galileo colt NOTABLE GRADUATE is entered in the Derbys at Epsom and the Curragh and should be better suited by this trip than the 1m2f over which he finished runner-up to Marksmanship earlier this month. The winner's trainer, Aidan O'Brien, has two representatives including another dual Derby entry Cherokee Brave, a son of Montjeu who makes his debut. Stablemate Justification was behind the selection when both made their debuts in the race won by Tiz The Shot at Leopardstown in October but is much more likely to be suited by middle-distances this year. Kasanka's pedigree is all about this type of trip and she's related to some high-class performers and like Solar Event, another superbly-bred filly, is one to keep an eye on for the future.
